Masimov: oil extraction in Kazakhstan in 2016 to make up 75 mln tons

The PM of Kazakhstan, K. Masimov, ordered the Ministry of Energy to correct the oil extraction plan for 2016 and increase it by 1 mln tons.
Kazakhstan was initially expected to produce 77 mln tons, however, later the forecast level of extraction fell to 74 mln tons.
“We need to provide the growth of production volumes in the spheres of economy where there is a fall. Concerning oil extraction, the Ministry of Energy and KMG are ordered to increase the growth of extraction from 74 mln tons to 75 mln tons”, Mr. Masimov said.
He also ordered to optimize the periods of repair works at oil refineries so as to additionally process another 150 thousand tons of oil.
In 2015 Kazakhstan produced 66.518 mln tons of oil, by 2% less than in 2014.
