Rosneft asks for state support

The President of “Rosneft” Igor Sechin suggests 5 variants of state support amidst the financial sanctions, imposed by the USA. For instance to buy out its new bonds at 1.5 trillion roubles ($42 billion) using the National Welfare Fund, Vedomosti writes.

The source in oil sector said about it to the newspaper and four officials confirmed the information. A spokesman for the Government declined to give any comments, the press-service of “Rosneft” gave no comments and the request letter to the Ministry of Economic Development was left unanswered, the newspaper writes.

As the sources stated, the need of state assistance is due to sanctions against the company, according to Igor Sechin. In July, the Ministry of Finance of the USA prohibited American companies, banks, citizens to grant credits and loans to “Rosneft” and a number of other Russian companies for more than 90 days, as well as stock financing.
