Structures of Dmitry Firtash prevents transfer of 2 plants to the state

The structures of the businessman Dmitry Firtash are illegally trying to extend the lease of Volnogorsk mining and metallurgical plant (the Dnepropetrovsk region) and Irshansk mining and ore-dressing plant (the Zhytomyr region) that will stop the return of these enterprises to state ownership, which is scheduled for September this year. This was reported by the former Minister of Industrial Policy of the Ukraine Valeriy Mazur, who noted that in the past 10 years the Firtash’s Group DF has rented 2 plants for a penny, used them to obtain excessive profits, and didn’t invest any funds in their development.

"Together they generate a profit in the amount of $350 million per year, and the state gets a penny (for rent), even more so in the recent 2 years lease payments for these companies wasn’t paid at all," - said Mazur. "There is an unverified information that the administration of the Volnogorsk and Irshansk plants force workers to put their signatures to petition to the Government and the President to extend the lease of these enterprises by Group DF under threat of dismissal," - said the ex-Minister of Industrial Policy.
