Turkmenistan and Pakistan have discussed the aspects of TAPI gas pipeline project

The fourth session of the Turkmen and Pakistan intergovernmental commission has emphasized the mutual interest in the realization of the project for construction of the trans-national gas pipeline of Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India (TAPI). The sides also discussed the actual point of further development of the cooperation between the states in the trade and economy sphere and realization of the bilateral agreements achieved before. They closed the corresponding protocol under the results of the session.

Turkmenistan states that construction of TAPI should be started in 2015. The basis document for TAPI promotion is the Ashgabat intergovernmental agreement closed in 2010, about the start of the practical realization of the project.
