AzMeCo to receive Russian gas on September 20-21
On September 20-21 Gazprom will start gas supplies for the needs of the methanol plant AzMeCo in Azerbaijan, President of SOCAR, R. Abdullaev, said.
The supply volume will make up 1-2 bln cubic m of gas a year, R. Abdullaev said.
On September 11th 2014 Gazprom and AzMeCo signed a partnership agreement for the supply of gas. The agreement was signed by the CEO of Gazprom export, E. Burmistrova, and N. Piriev, chairman of AzMeCo. This agreement will allow to load the capacities of the plant in Garadag.
AzMeCo is an international company with the head office in Azerbaijan and is present in Russia, the Netherlands, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Turkey. The company is the owner of the only in Azerbaijan methanol plant certified by all international standards. The investment of AzMeCo into the plant’s construction made up about $500 mln.
