Gazprom: problem of the access to Opal is of a contrived character

​Gazprom has been trying to gain full access to the Opal gas pipeline into which the Russian gas is pumped that shipped to Europe by the Nord Stream.

The problem of Gazprom’s access to the full volume of Opal is not of economic but contrived, political character, deputy chairman of Gazprom, A. Medvedev, said.

The Russian gas coming to Europe by Nord Stream is loaded into Opal but due to the restrictions of the European regulators the pipe is loaded only by half. Gazprom has been trying to gain the access to the pipe but the EU has always rejected.
