Lukoil is attracted to the dispute between Rosneft and Rosnedra upon Eastern Taymyr

The Arbitration Court of Moscow by the application of Lukoil-Western Siberia has attracted it as a third party to the investigation between Rosneft and Rosnedra for the right to develop the land part of the East- Taymyr oil and gas site which was won by Lukoil.

Rosneft also demands to prove illegal the actions of Rosnedra at holding and determination of the winner.

A representative of Rosneft at Court opposed the attraction of Lukoil to the process. According to Rosneft, its dispute with Rosnedra doesn’t touch the right and interests of Lukoil. Rosnedra supported the attraction of the 3rd party.

In spring Rosnedra decided to divide the site in 2 parts – land and offshore. It gave Lukoil an opportunity to intend for the land part. On August 11th Lukoil won the tender for the license for the land part of the East- Taymyr oil and gas site at the coast of the Laptev Sea in the Krasnoyarsk region. The winner offered 2 bln roubles for the license. In fact the norms of the existing legislation allow only Gazprom and Rosneft to intend for the development of the shelf.
