Multi-stage layer hydrofracking has been held at Priobsky deposit

The specialists of Gazprom Neft-Khantos under the supervision of the function of geology and development and experts of the Scientific –Technical Center of Gazprom Neft have held multi-stage layer hydrofracturing by a new “non-spherical” technology at the Priobsky deposit. Due to the implementation of the innovation, 11 hydrofracturing operations were held at one well which is a record for the company. The new approach allows too eliminate the technological restrictions by the number of hydrofracturing operations at one bore of a well and increase the efficiency of development of the company’s reserves.

A peculiar feature of the new technology is primarily its method of isolation of ports of layer hydrofracturing (points inside a well where it is planned to hold hydrofracturing) from each other. At the application of a traditional ‘spherical’ technology, each new zone of hydrofracturing is separated from a previous one by a composite or metal ball. The diameter of balls is growing from one zone to another and doesn’t allow to hold over 10 hydrofracturing operations due to the construction peculiarities of a well.
