Sibur sells its fleet of tank cars for LPG transportation to Rail Garant
Sibur sells more than 4 thousand of its tank cars for LPG transportation to the transport holding company Rail Garant, which belongs to Sergei Smyslov and Sergei Gushin. The amount of the future deal will be 11.5 billion rubles. At the same time, Sibur will continue to use the sold rolling stock.
The signing of the corresponding agreement between Sibur and Rail Garant and the main terms of the future deal were announced by the petrochemical company on Wednesday. It report notes that the deal is expected to be concluded after the receiving all necessary approvals.
After the deal's conclusion, Rail Garant will transfer the management of the whole fleet, which it will buy from Sibur (4,364 tank cars), to the latter’s transport subsidiary – Sibur-Trans. At the same time, a half of cars will be leased out and the other half will be used for transportation of Sibur’s products (as Kommersant explains on Thursday, referring to Sergei Smyslov, the second half of the fleet will be managed by Rail Garant and Sibur-Trans will be able to attract cars if necessary). The corresponding contracts will be concluded for 6 years.
