An offshore part of South Stream is ready for a start of construction
The Board of Directors of “Gazprom” has considered the progress of “South Stream” gas pipeline construction project's implementation,the press-service of the company states.
They stated that South Stream Transport B.V. is ready for the construction of more complex part of the project – 1st and 2nd branches of the offshore pipeline. They have finished the conceptual engineering (FEED). The contractor Saipem carries out operations on the detailed engineering of the underwater main line at present. There have been supplied almost 300 thousand tons of pipes for the construction of the first offshore branch. The welding of sections for the construction of deep water area is carried out at the Burgas port.
