European Commission has new claims to Gazprom on violations in Bulgaria

Gazprom has once again come under the suspicion of the European Commission in violation of the antimonopoly legislation in the EU's gas supplies to Bulgaria. The European market regulator sent a formal request to the Russian company on this occasion last month. It is reported by Gazprom itself in the memorandum on the new issue of its bonds (Eurobonds).

In February, the EC requested information about transactions of the Russian company with Bulgarian counterparties in connection with alleged violations of the antimonopoly legislation of the EU in the gas supply by companies that are affiliated with Gazprom. Apparently, we are talking about the history of the end of last year, when private importer Bulgarian Overgas Inc. stated that the Russian side (Gazprom export) intended to stop supplying gas after the New Year. Then the Russian Foreign Ministry had to refute this information.
