Uzbekistan to increase production of natural gas due to maximum extraction of remaining hydrocarbon reserves at the Shurtan field

On April 9th, 2014, the Uzbek Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution "On measures to ensure the implementation of the investment project "The additional construction at the Shurtan field with the construction of the booster compressor station-2".

This document was adopted in order to increase the production of natural gas by maximizing the extraction of remaining hydrocarbon reserves at the Shurtan field.

The resolution notes that Uzbekneftegaz implements the investment project with assimilation of capital investments in the amount of $309.5 million, which provides for drilling of 18 wells, overhaul of 16 wells, expansion of the existing system of collection and transportation of natural gas with the construction of a booster station to maintain the capacity of 9 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.
