Mikhelson: Novatek not interested in Russian shelf

​Novatek is interested in participation in projects at the Russian shelf but in the long-tem perspective, L. Mikhelson said.

In the current economic situation it is not interesting but in future it will be, he said.

Now the Government considers the idea of granting the access to non-Government companies to the development of the shelf of Russia.

According to A. Novak, Lukoil will be able to gain the access to the shelf.

Now the licenses for the development of the shelf are held by Rosneft – it has licenses for 47 sites – and Gazprom with 68 licenses.

The Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia supports flexible conditions for the access of private energy companies to the shelf deposits.
