The operator and the contractor of Sakhalin-1 appealed to the court against each other

The operator of Sakhalin-1 Exxon Neftegaz and the contractor for the construction of the platform at the Arkutun-Dagi deposit, Sakhneftegaz Engineering (the shareholder is the American WorleyParsons) have appealed to the court against each other. Exxon Neftegaz is dissatisfied with the work executed and tries to cancel the contract with a claim against WorleyParsons. Sakhneftegaz Engineering claims from the operator $20 million.
In March, Sakhneftegaz Engineering LLC and its shareholder WorleyParsons appealed to the International arbitration court in New York against Exxon Neftegaz, the operator of Sakhalin-1 project; Exxon Mobil and Sodeco hold 30%, Rosneft and ONGC hold 20%. The companies demand to pay $20 million for engineering at the platform for Arkutun-Dagi development, and to compensate the court expenses. Actually, it was the reaction to the suit initiated in December 2013 by Exxon Neftegaz seeking forthe cancellation of the agreement with the contractor. Neither Exxon Neftegaz nor Sakhneftegaz Engineering or WorleyParsons gave any comments yesterday
