BP plans to purchase Rosneft’s stake in oil deposit for $700 mln

BP might sign a deal with Rosneft on the purchase of 20% in the Siberian oil deposit for $700 mln. The negotiations of BP on the expansion of cooperation with the Russian partners go on despite of the EU decision on the prolongation of sanctions on Russia that occupied the Crimea and started a war in Donbass.

Eni and Statoil have already been issued the approval of European capitals on the prolongation of cooperation with Rosneft. Shell also keeps working with Gazprom in the framework of “Salym Petroleum Development” project on the development of the Salym group of oil deposits in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area in the Western Siberia. Shell has applied to the Netherlands to be issued the approval for the start of new joint projects with Russia.
