Rosneft postpones drilling at 7 sites of the Arctic shelf

Rosnedra has allowed Rosneft to postpone the drilling at 7 sites at the shelf for 1-3 years: the Pomorsky, South-Prinovozemelsky, North-Pomorsky-1,2, Russky, East-Siberian and West-Matveevsky sites.
To work at the shelf Rosneft signed agreements with ExxonMobil, Eni, Statoil in 2014. With Exxon Rosneft drilled the first “Universitetskaya-1” well in the East-Prinovozemelsky-1 site in the Kara Sea. On the results of works Rosneft reported of the discovery of a new deposit “Pobeda” (C1+C2 reserves make up 130 mln tons of oil and 499.2 bln cubic m of gas).
It was planned to drilling the 2nd well in 2015 but the works were postponed for 2016 due to the US and EU sanctions on Russia.
