Yakutia asks for MET benefits for oil fields
Yakutia asks for MET preferences for oil fields of the republic, the Vedomosti reports.
The governor of Yakutia asked the Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev for the benefits, the Ministry of Energy writes in its letter.
In 2006 the zero severance tax rate for ten years for new deposits of the Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk regions and Yakutia was introduced (depletion of which is less than 5% at the beginning of 2007), in 2014 the privilege was extended to 2021, but only for those fields, which had the depletion rate of less than 5% as of 2015. Now the Energy Ministry decided to extend the benefits to the old fields with cumulative production of not more than 10 million tons and depletion of not more than 0.05% at the beginning of 2002, if the license was issued before December 31st, 2001.
