Turkey increased volumes of Russian gas purchase

​In Q4 Turkey significantly increased the volumes of purchase of the Russian gas. It is about 1 bln cubic m.

In the previous quarters the supplies to Turkey were falling, however, within the past 3 month again grew having covered the majority of the lost volumes. Turkey is the 2nd largest consumer of the Russian gas by the volumes of purchase and is a partner of Gazprom.

According to Ukrtransgas, the volumes of supplies via the gas distribution station Orlovka, from where gas is distributed between Turkey, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania and Greece, reached the maximum level and made up 68 mln cubic m annually.

In general in 2015 Turkey will purchase about 27 bln cubic m of gas from Russia. The head of the Government of Turkey, A. Davutoglu, said that Ankara doesn’t expect any problems with gas supplies and still hopes to receive gas from Russia on the basis of the signed contracts.
