Karabalin: Kashagan developers will be fined

Oil production there began on September 11th 2013. However on September 24, its operation was postponed after the discovering of gas leakages from the ground-surface pipeline from the D island to the Bolashak plant. After replacement of the corresponding joints, production was restored, but on October 9th it was postponed again due to another gas leakage. The reason for the leakage was the cracking of the pipeline under the impact of SSC. Mr. Karabalin does not name the possible volume of fines due to privacy policy.
