Maroš Šefčovič: We are ready to soften or lift the sanctions against Russia.

EU countries can accept mitigation and possibly refusal of the earlier sanctions against Russia. This would be the case if the EU is satisfied that Moscow is taking all the necessary measures for the peaceful resolution of the conflict in the South-East of the Ukraine. This statement was voiced by the Slovak TV channel in the "Five to Twelve" program by the European Commission Vice President Maroš Šefčovič.

"It is necessary to maintain such a unique tool to influence Russia as economic sanctions so that it plays a positive role in the situation in the Ukraine", - the politician stated.
