Meeting of oil producers to be held in Qatar on April 17th

​The meeting of OPEC and other oil producing countries will be held in Qatar on April 17th.

This meeting is the continuation of the meeting held in February in Doha between Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Venezuela at which they suggested freezing oil extraction at the level of January 2016 and called oil producers to follow it, M. Salekh As-Sad, Minister of Energy of Qatar said.

Currently about 15 oil producers extracting about 73% of oil in the world support this idea.

The countries that supported the idea to freeze oil extraction are Ecuador, Algeria, Nigeria, Oman, Kuqait, UAE. Iran and Iraq speak about the support of steps towards the improvement of the situation in the oil market avoiding promises to join extraction freezing.
