Oil extraction in Western Siberia fell to 661 thousand tons in 2015

Oil extraction in the Western Siberia from 2013 fell by almost 1.5 times, the head of the subsoil use department, A. Nevolko, said.

In 2013 the volume of oil extraction in the Western Siberia made up 976 thousand tons, in 2014 -858 thousand tons, in 2015 -661 thousand tons.

In the extraction regions – Omsk and Novosibirsk regions – the extraction is due to the current situation in the market and state of deposits.

The situation may improve when Rosneft and Gazprom Neft come to the Omsk region, A. Nevolko thinks.

The presence of these companies will give an impetus to the development and foundations of new fields.

The perspectives are connected with Surgutneftegas which currently holds geological exploration at this site and is to complete is by the end of 2016 making a presentation of the project of development of the deposit.
