Kazahmys has reached an agreement with private unaffiliated company CCC Mining Construction B.V. on purchase of the Koksai deposit in the Alma-Ata region, the company’s press centre reports.
The Koksai copper deposit in the Alma-Ata region will become the third large project of the group. It is located near the existing developed infrastructure; the deposit’s reserves are estimated at 3.4 million tons of copper with the average copper content in ore at the level of 0.48%. Besides, the ore contains silver, gold and molybdenum. The deal must be coordinated with the government and regulating authorities.
