Growth in steel production in Russia slows down to 1%

In January – June 2014, the Russian ferrous metallurgy enterprises increased steel smelting by 1.2% to 35.1 million tons, and cast iron production remained 25 million tons. Ready steel yield increased by 1.9% to 30.2 million tons, including 5.1 million tons of steel pipes (+3%).

In June, steel smelting increased by 7.3% versus June 2013, and reduced by 1% versus May 2014. Ready steel yield increased by 8.4% versus June 2013. Steel pipes yield increased by 3%. The indices reduced by 1.1% and by 3.4% correspondently versus May 2014.
