Lukoil asks European Commission for help

Lukoil has appealed to the European Commission for support in resolving conflict over its assets in Romania. Requests on the meeting with the Romanian president were in vain. Romania accused the Russian company of tax evasion and money laundering, however, according to experts, the attack against the company is conducted with the aim to bring down the price of the asset and to buy it on the cheap, and in the public interest.

Russian Lukoil has sent a letter to the Commission with a request to participate in the investigation of the charges, brought against the company by the law enforcement agencies of Romania. This was announced by vice-president of Lukoil on oil processing Thomas Mueller at the press conference in Brussels.
