Pavel Zavalniy: It is necessary to reduce the tax burden on ton of oil produced.
Maintaining the current level of oil production until 2035 was possible with a decrease in the specific tax burden per ton of oil produced, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Energy Pavel Zavalniy stated at the enlarged meeting, commenting on the draft of the new Energy Strategy.
The strategy sets a goal of conservation of oil and condensate at the level of 525 million tons by 2035. According to the head of the committee, this is difficult in the current environment, and the main challenge here are not sanctions, but sharply deteriorating stock structure, in which the production is required to maintain the increase in operating and investment costs. Their growth combined with falling oil prices and sanctions restrictions will reduce the profitability of the industry and reduce the sources of its development.
