“Gazpromneft” postpones operation at the Arctic shelf until 2031

The operation at the Arctic shelf by “Gazpromneft” has been postponed until 2031. It became known on Monday.

They confirmed the information in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and stated it is due to the necessity of extra geological exploration in the region. Gazprom obtained the license for mining at the Dolginskoye deposit in December 2005. Russia was expected to drill minimum three wells by 2019, but they drilled only two to date.
