The Board of Directors of JSC "Tatneftehiminvest-holding" (Kazan) considered the project of creation in Tatarstan production of cyclopentane and dicyclopenta. Currently under the initiative "Tatneftehiminvest-holding" is working on the creation of appropriate technology, based on the Chinese way (there are American way as well), but with the help of domestic catalyst.

Moscow LLC "RN-CIR" ("Joint research and development center") announced the development of technology for the synthesis of cyclopentane in the reactive distillation apparatus. Today the project is at the stage of organizing a joint venture with the participation of the center of nanotechnologies of Republic of Tatarstan and ITC "Inzhehim."
