Sevmorgeo recommends 3 sites in the water area of the Gulf of Ob

​Sevmorgeo has completed seismic exploration at the Ust-Ob site. It was found out that the territory has a good perspective for hydrocarbons.

Rosgeology said that the works were held by means of the funds of the federal budget in the framework of the state contract.

In October 2013 Sevmorgeo won a tender for the study of the Ust-Ob site organized by Rosnedra.

The Ust-Ob site is located in the south-western part of the Yamal Nenets Autonomous Area and comprises the estuary of the Ob river and the most southern part of the Gulf of Ob – the main navigation route of the region.

The area of the site is 20.5 sq km.

On the basis of the previously held studies, including with the participation of Sevmorgeo, a high oil and gas bearing potential of the subsoil in this region was noticed.
