Joint venture of Shell and Gazpromneft to produce shale oil in the Khanty-Mansiisk autonomous district

Shell and Gazpromneft have created a joint venture for work at shale oil sites in Western Siberia. It was noted that the companies will own the joint venture - Khanty-Mansiisk oil alliance – on a parity basis.

The Chief of the Gazpromneft’s design department “Difficult Oil” K.Strizhnev was appointed the general director of the joint venture. The company was registered in St. Petersburg. The organization of the design team continues now.

The Russian company noted that specialists of Shell and Gazpromneft work on a regional study of unconventional oil resources in the territory of Western Siberia to discover the most perspective areas of Bazhenov group and to assess them.
