Gazprom to reject products made in countries that imposed sanctions against Russia

Gazprom has decided to find a replacement for its foreign suppliers in Russia. On February 4th, the company’s Board of Directors amended the provisions on procurement. According to the Vedomosti, the innovation is to ensure that metal products and engineering products, including automobiles, agricultural, road construction and municipal equipment will be bought mainly from Russian producers, "except in cases of absence of these products and their analogues in Russia".

The import substitution program began in Gazprom at the end of 2014. The list for replacement includes 410 foreign suppliers from 20 countries, more than a quarter of them - companies from the USA, Germany, France, UK and Japan. Among them, for example, are Siemens, Motorola, Schlumberger, Weatherford, Baker, Schneider Electric, MAN Turbo, Kenwood, Sumitomo, Kawasaki, Caterpillar and others.
