Russia and Azerbaijan grow economic cooperation

The integration of the economies of Russia and Azerbaijan is increasing with each joint project, experts say. The recently approved by the President of Azerbaijan, I. Aliev, Government program on industry development for 2015-2020 contributes to that.

As a result of the realization of this program it is planned to turn the non-oil sector of economy into the main source of industrial development of the country. In 2014, over 230 industrial enterprises were launched in Azerbaijan, and the non-oil sectors o economy showed a 6.9% growth.

Today Azerbaijan is almost the only country in the Trans-Caucasus region that has enough potential for a step towards a new industrialization and resources to found new innovations production capacities, the head of the cross-Parliament group of friendship Russia-Azerbaijan, D. Saveliev, thinks.
