Russia to construct an oil refinery plant in Uganda costing $2.5 bln

The consortium of mainly Russian companies headed by the affiliate of Rostekh – RT Global Resources, has won a tender for the construction and management over an oil refinery plant in Uganda with $2.5 value.

The Ministry of Energy of Uganda said that the winners of the tender would be officially announced on Tuesday. The consortium also comprises Tatneft, VTB Capital and GS (South Korea).

At the first stage the capacity of the oil refinery plant will be 30 thousand barrels a day, then will rise to 60 thousand barrels a day.
