Gazprom has extended a contract for gas supply to Hungary

The contract for gas supply from Russia to Hungary has been extended for another 4 years – until 2019.

The contract expired in late 2015. The parties have been discussing the conditions of supplies all this time. It was decided to sign a long-term contract that presupposes supply via the Baumgarten hub in Austria and the Beregovoe in the Ukraine. In 2015 Hungary purchased over 5.86 bln cubic m of the Russian gas.

The PM of Hungary, V. Orban, and V. Putin will discuss not only cooperation between the countries but will also pay attention to the energy projects. Orban said previously that Russia agreed to cancel fines for the not collected gas volumes by the take-or-pay rule.
