Irkutsknedra to forecast growth of discovery of new hydrocarbon deposits in the region

The discovery of hydrocarbon deposits in the Irkutsk region may occur every year, the Chief of the Subsoil Use Department in the Irkutsk region (Irkutsknedra) Olga Gaikova reported at the press conference on Wednesday.
“65 hydrocarbon licenses are in force in the region now, deposits have been already discovered at 36 of them. In particular, last year Rosneft discovered a field at the Preobrazhensk licensed site, which was named in honor of the famous Irkutsk geologist, Vladimir Mazur.The Irkutsk oil company discovered three deposits. The reserves of the new fields, placed on the state balance sheet, are small, but this is just the beginning,” – Gaikova concluded, the RIA Novosti reports.
