Lukoil wants gas assets in Nenets autonomous district
Lukoil has decided to make a competition to Rosneft and Gazprom in the fight for the gas assets: the company has filed an application for the auction on the Layavozhskoye and Vaneyvisskoye deposits with total reserves of more than 220 billion cubic meters. As sources of the Kommersant suggest, the main battle will take place between Lukoil and Rosneft: the state-owned company needs them to expand the resource base of the RN-Pechora LNG project.
Lukoil applied for auction on the Layavozhskoye and Vaneyvisskoye gas condensate fields in the Nenets autonomous district; the acceptance of the applications finished on May 13. The participants of the auction on June 15 will also be Gazprom and Rosneft, the initial payment is 8.05 billion rubles. The companies declined to comment on the upcoming auction.
