Rosneft is not ready to give Lukoil even a part of its shelf

As the Kommersant has got to know, Rosneft tries to cancel the results of the competition on the East-Taimyr area, which was won by Lukoil. Rosneft considers that Rosnedra haven’t considered its proposal on development of the site and unreasonably rejected its application. The controversial onshore block actually gives its holder an access to the shelf, access to which Lukoil is now seeking.

Rosneft has sent a complaint to the Ministry of Natural Resources on the violation of the rules of the contest on the East-Taimyr area by Rosnedra, the company’s letter to the head of the Ministry Sergei Donskoi says. Besides Rosneft, Lukoil struggled for the site and won the competition, offered 1.9 billion rubles (almost 600 times higher than the initial payment). But Rosneft considers that its proposal on development of the site was the best, and requests to cancel the results of the competition, and to prohibit Rosnedra to document, register and issue a license to Lukoil.
