Gazprom to lose preferences for gas export in 2014

The issue on the depriving of Gazprom of its monopoly on the right to export gas is almost solved. At the end of August, the Russian Minister of Energy, Alexander Novak stated that a draft law on liberalization of the LNG export is in the process of approval in the Government and will be submitted to the State Duma by September. “It is developed by us and is being coordinated with federal authorities now – with the Ministry of Economic Development, the Federal Antimonopoly Service and with the Ministry of Finance, – he specified. – We want that the draft law will be adopted in the autumn session and will come into force from January 1st, 2014,” – the Nezavisimaya gazeta writes.
