Oil transportation via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline grows

In January-August 2014, 23.6 million tons were transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline as compared with 22.1 million tons in the same period of 2013.

This was stated in the report of the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan on the results of the first eight months of 2014, the Trend transmits.

"In January-August, three quarters of all the oil, transported via pipeline networks of the country, fell on the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline," - the report says.

In 2013, 33 million tons were transported via BTC as compared with 32.9 million tons in 2012.

According to the State Statistics Committee, in general in the reporting period 31.2 million tons were transported via the country's main oil pipelines, which is by 7.7% more than in January-August 2013.
