The Ukraine plans to purchase 6 bln cubic m of gas within the heating season

The Ukraine plans to purchase about 6 bln cubic m of reverse gas from Europe before the end of the heating season, the head of Naftogas, A, Kobolev said.

At the present time there are 16 bln cubic m of gas at the Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities. It is not enough for the heating season. It would be comfortable for us to start October if there were 20 bln cubic m of gas at the underground facilities. But it is not real as the monthly capacity is only 1 bln cubic m, Mr. Kobolev said.

He was sure the reverse supplies of from Europe will help the Ukraine to stay warm through the winter. He also thinks of purchasing the additional volumes from Gazprom if the reverse supplies from Europe is not enough. The Ukraine now receives gas only by the reverse supplies from Europe. The supplies from Russia were terminated on June 16th due to the multi-billion debts of Kiev.
