From October, SOCAR and Gazprom to start temporary swap supplies of Russian gas to Azerbaijan

SOCAR and Gazprom plans to carry out temporary swap operations to supply of Russian gas to Azerbaijan, SOCAR’s president Rovnag Abdullayev told reporters on Thursday.

"These will be temporary swap operations. The agreement with the leadership of Gazprom on this issue has already been achieved. In the framework of these agreements, Gazprom will supply gas to Azerbaijan, which will be pumped into underground storage facilities. In consequence, SOCAR will use this gas to supply it to the south of Russia," - Abdullayev said.
