SOCAR not to ship more gas to Georgia in winter 2015-2016

SOCAR doesn’t plan to increase gas pumping to Georgia in the winter 2015-2016.

According to the head of SOCAR Energy Georgia, M. Mamedov, the current volumes fully cover the country’s needs.

In summer the pumping volume makes up 3.5-3.6 mln cubic m a day, in winter – 5-6 mln cubic m a day. Moreover, the supplies by the South Caucasus gas pipeline are held at the volume of 2.6 mln cubic m a day.

In 2014 SOCAR exported 2.15 bln cubic m of gas to Georgia – by 10.5% more than in 2013.

The company also organizes the gasification of the regions of Georgia and plans to reach this rate to 82% by 2017.
