Ministry of Natural Resources doesn’t expect private companies to be granted access to shelf in 2015

​The Ministry of Natural Resources doesn’t expect the approval of the law on the access of private companies to the shelf earlier than in 2016, the Minister of Natural Resources, S. Donskoi, said.

Previously the first deputy of Mr. Donskoi, D. Khramov, also doubted it would happen this year.

The Ministry of Natural Resources thinks there is no necessity in the access of private Russian oil companies to the Arctic shelf at the oil price lower than $50/barrel.

The Ministry of Natural Resources by the order of the President of Russia is preparing the suggestions to the law that expand the access of companies to the development of shelf deposits. Now only Rosneft and Gazprom have the access.
