In 2015 imports of polypropylene in Russia decrease by 18%.

In 2015 the total volume of polypropylene (PP) imports in Russia decreased by 18% compared to the same period of 2014 and amounted to 138.1 thousand tons. The largest decrease occurred in the external supply block of propylene copolymers (PP-block), DataScope informs MRC.

In December Russian companies have kept the November volume of external purchases of polypropylene, the final rate of import amounted to 0.5 thousand tons. In general, in January - December 2015 the total volume of foreign supplies of PP fell to 138.1 thousand tons against 168.6 thousand tons a year earlier. The increase in domestic production, particularly of propylene homopolymers (PP-homo), and rouble devaluation were the main reasons for the decrease in import volumes. The greatest reduction in external supplies was in block copolymers of propylene.
