RD KMG has discovered oil at 3 sites

​In 2016-2017 the company plans to drill 2 appraisal wells aiming for delineation of new layers, calculation of reserves and projection of trial operation.

RD KMG has received oil flow as a result of the geological exploration works at the north-eastern part of S. Nurzhanov structure, Liman and Akkuduk blocks.

While testing the productive Triassic layers at the inclined well drilled in 2015 at the north-eastern part of S. Nurzhanov structure, the fountain oil flow of dry crude oil with the output of 130 tons a day (about 900 barrels a day) was received.

By the preliminary assessment, the perspective resources are assessed at 3.9 mln tons of recoverable hydrocarbons. In 2018 the company plans to start trial operation of the deposit. The S. Nurzhanov deposit is one of the main deposits of Embamunaigas (EMG), it has been operated since 1963 and provides about 17% of oil extraction of EMG and about 16% of 2P category reserves.
