The company requires the return of overpaid taxes for six years.

Russia may have a new conflict with a major foreign investor. As "the Kommersant" writes, ExxonMobil requires lowering income tax rate for the "Sakhalin-1" project from 35% to 20% and return tens of billions of roubles overpaid. The issue arose six years ago, but so far the company, receiving the status of a strategic partner of "Rosneft" in 2011, did not put it point blank. But sanctions, in fact, reduced cooperation to nothing, and, according to "the Kommersant", two months ago ExxonMobil sharply tightened rhetoric, threatening to submit a claim to the Stockholm arbitration. Lawyers believe the company's position is justified, the Russian authorities are hoping for a compromise.
