FAS approves Lukoil’s application on purchase of Samara-Nafta

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has approved the application of the largest Russian private oil company Lukoil on the acquisition of 100% of Samara-Nafta, the Service reports.

On April 1st, Lukoil and owners of Samara-Nafta (American Hess Corporation) signed the contract of sale and buy of this company, which produces oil in the Samara and Ulyanovsk regions. The deal value made up $2.05 billion, although earlier analysts estimated the asset at $1.6 billion, no more. The deal will be concluded after receiving of the FAS approval.
