Natalya Komarova: scavenger oil needs tax benefits

The largest Russian oil-bearing province Yugra hopes to slow down the production decrease due to tax benefits for oil companies, the governor of the Khanty-Mansiisk autonomous district Natalya Komarova stated in interview to the agency Reuter.

From 2011, profit and oil companies property tax reliefs are in force in the region. According to Komarova, these measures have brought new investments into technologies, slowed down the production fall. But this is not enough. Benefits for the production of scavenger oil, which large reserves are concentrated in Western Siberia, are necessary. The Russian Ministry of Finance plans to prepare them by 2014.
