MMK produced a record volume of cast iron in April

​The largest blast furnaces #9 and #10 of MMK in April produced a record volume of cast iron. The blast furnace #10 produced 156,549 tons of cast iron. Prior to that the maximum volume of cast iron production made up 154,421 tons in October 2015.

 The previous record of 153,526 tons was set in July 2013. The blast furnace #9 with the useful volume of 2,014 cubic m was constructed at MMK in 1964. At that moment it was the largest blast furnace in Europe.

For its history the blast furnace #9 produced about 80 mln tons of cast iron. In 2008 the cone-free loading unit of tray type as installed at the blast furnace. In February 2016 the capital repair was over at the furnace with the technical retooling of casting parts.

The blast furnace #10 also has the useful volume of 2,014 cubic m. it was put into operation in 1966. In 2008 in the framework of reconstruction the cone-free loading unit was installed at it. A few years ago a large ecological project was realized – the aspiration charge-conveying system of stock house was constructed which allowed to minimize the emissions of pollutant substances into the atmosphere and improve labor conditions of workers.
