Nord Stream-2 announces a tender for construction of underwater section of the pipeline
In 2015, the volume of the Gazprom’s deliveries in the CIS countries increased by 8% in comparison with 2014. The growth trend continues in 2016: in the first four months, the company’s exports increased by 9.5 billion cubic meters compared with January-April 2015.
This is stated in the message of Gazprom by results of the Board meeting. The company’s Board took note of the progress of the Nord Stream-2 project. It is noted that the importance of creating a new gas transmission system is caused by the constant growth of the demand for Russian gas in Europe.
The meeting participants also stressed that the new gas pipeline would significantly increase the reliability of the energy supplies to Europe and improve the liquidity of the gas hubs, which wou;d contribute to the development of the European gas market.
